The hands that serve must sometimes become the hands that receive. We are often comfortable being the strong one, the helper, the person with something to offer. God made my heart to find love in helping and serving others. But there will be seasons when we are the ones who need help. Grace is not a loan, and the sacrifice of Jesus is not something we could ever repay. Jesus Christ gave us the best gift anyone could ever receive. He gave His entire Life and well being. The hard part is to just accept that gift. It is completely humbling and shows how servant like Jesus really is. We are His children, He is our Father and Teacher. His Grace is so beautiful. Love gives what we cannot earn. Even the strongest tree needs water, and its roots do not apologize for needing the soil. Perhaps we should not be ashamed of needing one another either. There is humility in saying, “Let me help you,” but there is even more humility in saying, “Yes. I need help.”
